The 15th International Electronics Recycling Congress (IERC) will take place Jan. 20-22, 2016, in Salzburg, Austria.
Switzerland-based ICM AG, the organizer of the event, says IERC 2016 will bring together more than 500 recyclers, equipment manufacturers, recycling associations, standards bodies, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and regulators at the same event.
Among the topics to be discussed at the conference are:
- challenges of the circular economy;
- the recycling of precious and strategic metals;
- staying profitable as products and markets change;
- recycling technologies;
- worldwide take-back schemes, quotas and challenges faced by OEMs;
- closing the recycling loop;
- standards, compliance and regulations;
- business opportunities and models in emerging markets; and
- extended producer responsibility (EPR).
The conference also will offer workshops and plant tours and technology providers will present company spotlight and tech talks.
An exhibition area with more than 60 booths also is part of the conference, as are cocktail receptions and a networking dinner.
