The organizers of two different 2021 European recycling events have issued calls for papers or presentations. Switzerland-based ICM AG has issued a call for papers for its 20th International Electronics Recycling Congress (IERC 2021) and Germany-based ICP GmbH has issued a call for papers for its Waste-to-Resources 2021 event, which focuses on several recycling and waste diversion methods.
The IERC event is scheduled for Jan. 20-22, 2021, in Salzburg, Austria. ICM says it will consider presentations on several topics pertaining to the recycling of end-of-life electronics, including achievements in eco-design, the impact of the European Commission’s “Green Deal” on the electronics industry, innovations and best available recycling technologies, and collection targets for electronic scrap.
ICM says people, companies or organizations interested in presenting can send a “short abstract with your key message” to info@icm.ch before July 20, 2020.
ICP’s Waste-to-Resources 2021 event also is billed as the “9th international conference on [the] circular economy, MBT [mechanical-biological treatment], MRF [material recovery facilities], recycling and zero waste conference, exhibition and webinar.” It is scheduled for May 18-20 in Hanover, Germany.
The German event organizer has issued a lengthy list of potential presentation topics, including: “aims, concepts and legal framework conditions in the waste treatment and recycling industry; processing and recycling of plastic waste; the EU Circular Economy Action Plan; waste treatment and recovery: new processes, operating experience and optimization; production and marketing of secondary raw materials and fuels; new approaches and techniques for the recovery of organic waste fractions; increased and more economical recycling by optimizing collection; landfill mining; and other topics that fit into the context of the conference.”
Abstracts that will be considered by ICP can be sent to waste2resources@icp-ing.de by Nov. 12.
