Switzerland-based conference organizer ICM AG has announced Berlin as the host city of the 16th International Automobile Recycling Congress (IARC 2016). The event will take place March 16-18, 2016, at the Hotel Palace in Berlin.
The conference is being designed to bring together the links in the end-of-life vehicle (ELV) recycling chain, including car manufacturers, metal and plastic scrap traders, recyclers, shredder operators and policy makers from around the world.
More than 250 attendees from around the world are expected. Topics include:
- how car manufacturers and the dismantling industry can close the recycling loop;
- life cycle and sustainability aspects of car recycling;
- the role of different stakeholders in the ELV recycling chain;
- best available recycling technologies;
- a report on actions by global car manufacturers on how to facilitate achieving recycling goals; and
- updates on new laws and regulations.
An exhibition area will be integrated into the conference facilities and cocktail receptions and a networking dinner are being designed “to create an excellent atmosphere to get in touch with business partners, colleagues and competitors,” says ICM. ICM also is organizing accompanying plant tours and workshops.
ICM also has launched a call for papers and invite interested presenters to submit their proposal before Sept. 30, 2015. The organizers can be contacted at info@icm.ch.
