China-based Zhejiang Huayou Recycling Technology Co. Ltd., a recently formed subsidiary of 20-year-old battery materials provider Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt, will be among the presenters at the Asia INTL Li-ion Battery Recycling Summit 2023.
The event, which will be in Singapore from Dec. 5-7, has been designed to bring together recyclers and suppliers involved with Asia’s growing electric vehicle (EV) industry.
At the summit, Evan Lee, deputy general manager of the Zhejiang Huayou Recycling Strategy Center, will offer a presentation titled “Competitiveness of Huayou Recycling and reuse closed-loop solution.”
In a LinkedIn post, Zhejiang Huayou Recycling said it had formed to “work with our partners to create more possibilities for cooperation and a cleaner, green and low-carbon environment.
“As the parent company of Huayou Recycling, Huayou Cobalt Industry has built a full range of new energy lithium industries, from cobalt and nickel resource development, green refining, to the deep processing of lithium anode materials, and then to the recycling and utilization of resources.”
Huayou Recycling is not starting from scratch, according to the November post. “In the material side, Huayou Cobalt has successively established battery material companies of green refining, precursor and positive electrode in Indonesia, South Korea and Hungary. At the recycling end, Huayou Recycling based on [experience in China], has constructed recycling systems in South Korea and Indonesia to open up the strategic layout of major countries in Europe and North America.”
