Honoring Martin L. Wilhelm

Supporters can continue his work by contributing to the Martin L. Wilhelm Charitable Account.

The Martin L. Wilhelm Charitable Trust was established in honor of the late Marty Wilhelm, owner of Youngstown (Ohio) Iron and Metal Inc., and Atlas Recycling Inc. He was in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad & Tobago on a scrap buying trip when he died suddenly in a car accident in November 2006.

Marty always believed in giving back to the community and the Martin L. Wilhelm Charitable Trust is a way people can help continue his work by supporting university scholarships, sponsoring recycling and conservation programs and continuing his support for the Boy Scouts.

The MLW Memorial Trust also focuses on providing sustainable philanthropic efforts to proliferate environmental awareness and alleviate the environmental impact of mankind through education, according to the Wilhelm Foundation Web site. They coordinate with local and worldwide partners to develop a shared vision for improving lives, opportunities and general condition of humanity.

Those interested can help by contributing to the newly established Martin L. Wilhelm Charitable Account. This account will be the basis for a foundation that will keep Marty’s dream alive.
