The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has set up a Jan. 13, 2017, meeting regarding its HK$1 billion ($129 million) Recycling Fund.
According to the EPD, the fund has been set up “to help the recycling industry improve its operational capacity and efficiency and to promote the sustainable development of the recycling industry.”
The Recycling Fund began accepting applications in October 2015 and consists of “an Enterprise Funding Scheme and an Industry Support Scheme” tailored to support projects “for small and medium enterprises.”
The January 13 “Briefing on Recycling Funds” meeting will take place at the Productivity Building at 78 Tat Chee Avenue in Kowloon, Hong Kong, at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting is being designed to “familiarize the recycling industry and non-profit making organizations with the details of the Recycling Fund and the details of the applications,” says the EPD.
At the meeting, Hong Kong’s Labor Department also will share information from its “Waste recycling performance of occupational safety and health” report.
Those wishing to register for the meeting can do so on this web page.
