The Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has asked recycling facility operators “with relevant experience” to submit bids to develop a paper recycling facility while leasing out four lots in Hong Kong’s EcoPark.
According to the EPD, the winning bidder will be required to recycle recovered fiber collected from local sources and convert the material into either a finished or semi-finished paper product.
According to the EPD, the total area of the four lots is around 19,000 square meters (4.7 acres), which is bigger than previous land lots in the EcoPark that have been put up for tenancy. In addition, the tenancy period of the four lots is 20 years and the tenant can use other facilities in the EcoPark, including loading zones and docks. The EPD has expressed its hope that amount of space can meet the needs of a paper recycling and manufacturing facility.
Any bids must be submitted by June 1, 2018. More information on the bidding process can be found on this web page.
