Hong Kong to host Eco Expo Asia

Event will focus on recycling, green building and other environmental sectors.

Eco Expo Asia, also billed as the “International Trade Fair on Environmental Protection,” is receiving strong support, according to event organizer Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. Messe Frankfurt is working along with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Environment Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to co-host the 2014 version of the event. The organizers say Eco Expo Asia “will serve as a trading platform enabling quality buyers from Asia to connect with green enterprises and government officials.”

The 2014 event, which takes place at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo facility Oct. 29-Nov. 1, will mark the debut of “theme day”, a concept Messe Frankfurt says it has developed to address challenging environmental issues. A lineup of daily events and conferences will feature a selection of products and solutions connected to the corresponding themes:

Oct. 29 (Day 1) – Global Green Initiatives
Delegates from Hong Kong, People’s Republic of China and overseas pavilions will offer perspectives on how to work toward a more environmentally friendly future.

Oct. 30 (Day 2) – Waste Management & Recycling
Representatives from companies and government officials from across Asia will offer presentations on the latest green solutions and technologies.

Oct. 31 (Day 3) – Green Building, Energy Efficiency & Energy
With about 40 percent of the world’s building stock housed in the Asia Pacific region, the third day of the show will focus on the latest green building technologies and techniques to enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs.

Nov. 1 (Day 4) – Green Living (Public Day)
Public education on environmental protection will be the focus on this day, including targeting younger generations in an effort to raise their awareness and improve the perception of environmental protection.

Among the exhibitors taking part in the 2014 event are SITA Waste Services Ltd., Green Dynamic Electric Vehicle Limited, Milan Ecowood Pte Ltd., Horimasa International Co. Ltd. and the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection (HK) Investment Co. Ltd. (CECEP) and its subsidiary CECEP Geothermal Energy Co. Ltd.
