Van Dyk Baler Corp., Stamford, Conn., has provided two Bollegraaf balers to Homewood Disposal/Diversified Recycling on the south side of Chicago.
The single-stream sorting system Van Dyk Baler installed for the company processes at a rate of more than 50 tons per hour, and all of the materials the system sorts are baled by the two Bollegraaf balers.
The HBC-140 bales old news and OCC, while the HBC-120 handles all plastics and metals. According to a press release issued by Van Dyk, processing capabilities for ONP exceed 70 tons per hour, while OCC nears 35 tons per hour. “The -120, which provides the highest density bale of any of the Bollegraaf line, is specifically designed to handle rigid containers without issue,” according to Van Dyk.
These balers represent the second and third Bollegraaf balers owned and operated by Homewood. The company’s previous HBC-110F baler was replaced when the new sorting system was installed.
More information on the Bollegraaf HBC series of balers is available from Van Dyk Baler Corp., the exclusive North American distributor, at www.vandykbaler.com.
