The Secondary Metals Processing Division of Commercial Metals Co. (CMC), Dallas, has entered into a multi-year contract to provide scrap management services to steel fabrication company Hirschfeld Inc., San Angelo, Texas.
The contract calls for CMC to manage the scrap generated at Hirschfeld plants in Texas, Alabama, North Carolina and Virginia.
Hirschfeld Inc. operates under the names Hirschfeld Steel Co. and Carolina Steel Corp. and supplies and erects fabricated structural and miscellaneous steel products. The company’s products are used to make bridges, industrial plants, commercial buildings, roller coasters, mass transit structures, parking facilities, office towers and residential structures.
“We are pleased to be awarded this contract for Hirschfeld Inc., and look forward to a long-term relationship with such a fine organization,” remarks CMC’s Larry Olschwanger.
CMC’s Secondary Metals Processing Division operates facilities in several states, processing scrap to provide recycled metals to steel mills, ferrous and nonferrous foundries and other scrap-consuming customers.
