Health Care Compliance Strategies Inc. (HCCS), Jericho, N.Y., is now offering three versions of an ongoing education program to “quickly and effectively train a large staff on complying with HIPAA regulations,” according to the company.
With the April 20 2005 HIPAA Security Training deadline quickly approaching, some health care facilities may find themselves scrambling to meet the mandated training requirements, HCSS notes.
The company’s training program is available in three different formats:
- A computer-based multimedia HIPAA online training courseware
- Two Quick-Start Classroom Training Toolkits covering Privacy Awareness & Security
- Two videotapes covering HIPAA Privacy Awareness & Security training.
The resources are designed to “efficiently meet any learning style, while providing a consistent educational message, full student tracking and comprehensive management reporting,” according to HCCS.
According to the Federal Register Final Rule, when it comes to HIPAA, “Security training [is] required for all staff, including management. Training would include awareness training for all personnel.” In addition, the Federal Register specifies, “Training should be an ongoing, evolving process in response to environmental and operational changes affecting the security of electronic protected health information.”
The online education, classroom toolkits and videotapes are available separately or as a complete package, according to HCCS.\
“We understand the difficulty of training a large, distributed, multi-shift workforce with varied learning requirements,” says Mitchell Diamond, President of HCCS. “This comprehensive training solution provides an organization with the ability to meet that challenge.”
HCCS is a provider of online multimedia compliance and competency education to health care facilities.
