German granulator manufacturer Heinrich Dreher Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG has introduced DX 60/100, which it describes as a high-performance granulator that also offers reliability and safety.
The family-owned company that has been in business for more than 75 years produces granulators for the plastic industry that offer performance and reliability in dry and wet size reduction of postindustrial and postconsumer plastic.
With the DX 60/100, Dreher says it focused on reducing energy consumption, reducing maintenance time and making life easier and safer for the operator and the maintenance staff. The complete rotor, including its bearings, can be pivoted down, allowing easy access to the rotor and stator knives and reducing the time needed for knife adjustments. Dreher says it manufactures its rotors out of a solid bar of steel to avoid welding, resulting in balanced rotors with no vibration.
In combination with the real helical cutting action, the DX 60/100 creates high-quality granules with high density, helping reduce transportation and storage costs.
The DX 60/100 can be used for all kinds of film material and scrap and rejects from plastic parts production, such as blow molding and ejection molding.
