Heil Environmental, a manufacturer of refuse and recycling collection vehicles, is expanding its Fort Payne, Ala., facility. When complete, the project, which began June 18, is expected to cost around $6.4 million.
The project includes process and equipment improvements that will increase the company’s shop capacity, which is expected to improve cycle time by 95 percent. The expanded facility also will provide additional space for Heil’s parts central replacement parts business to grow its operation to better serve its customers.
“The primary goal of this investment in our Fort Payne manufacturing facility is to attain increased capacity, which will accommodate planned future growth,” says Randy Brown, VP of Sales & Marketing for Dover Corp.’s Environmental Solutions Group, Heil’s parent company. “Shortening lead times, while improving our manufacturing efficiency, will provide long-term value for our customers, channel partners, and all Heil Environmental employees. This will be a significant competitive advantage for our organization as we consistently look for ways to better service our customers."
