Harsco Corp., Harrisburg, Pa., has announced that its Heckett MultiServ division will expand its services at the AvestaPolarit stainless steel works in Sheffield, U.K., under a new five-year contract valued at more than $12 million.
The agreement further increases Heckett MultiServ’s scope as the primary service provider of mill services at the Sheffield site, one of the world’s largest producers of precision stainless steel strip and coil products. Heckett MultiServ has been providing metal recovery and slag handling services at the plant for more than 30 years, and raw materials handling services for the past 15 years, according to a Harsco news release.
The new agreement will take effect later this quarter after the commissioning of a new billet caster by AvestaPolarit. Heckett MultiServ will take responsibility for managing all billet movements and inventory on the Sheffield site.
