Harsco Corp. announced that its Heckett MultiServ division has been awarded a new multi-year contract for specialized mill services at the Rocky Mountain Steel Mills unit of Oregon Steel Mills, Inc., located in Pueblo, Colorado. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Heckett MultiServ will assume the on-site responsibility for slag handling, slag marketing and metal recovery in support of Rocky Mountain Steel Mills' production operations.
Rocky Mountain Steel Mills produces a broad range of products, including seamless pipe for the oil and gas industry, standard carbon and head-hardened rail, high- and low-carbon wire rod/bar, and semi-finished steel billets.
The agreement adds to Harsco's base of multi-year mill services contracts, which at the end of last year, had a potential revenue value of about $3 billion.
Heckett MultiServ operates on-site at approximately 150 mills in more than 30 countries, providing a broad range of services that include slag handling and metal recovery, by-product recovery and recycling, semi- and finished-product management, integrated materials handling, and specialist transportation services. The contract is forecast to generate positive Economic Value Added (EVA(r)) benefit from its first year of operation.
