Harsco Lands Contract at New Steel Mill in Middle East

Harsco Corp., headquartered in Camp Hill, Pa., has been awarded a 7-year contract valued at more than $50 million to provide onsite slag management, materials logistics, metal recovery and byproduct processing services at a new steel mill in Saudi Arabia.

The South Steel plant is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2012, and is slated to produce around one million tons of steel rebar and billets per year.

According to Harsco, the contract is expected to position Harsco to bid on future phases of the mill's expansion, and adds to Harsco's presence in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
