Harsco Corp., headquartered in Camp Hill, Pa., has been awarded a 7-year contract valued at more than $50 million to provide onsite slag management, materials logistics, metal recovery and byproduct processing services at a new steel mill in Saudi Arabia.
The South Steel plant is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2012, and is slated to produce around one million tons of steel rebar and billets per year.
Salvatore Fazzolari, Harsco’s chairman, president and CEO, says, "We are delighted and honored to be chosen for Saudi Arabia's most modern steel production facility. This is a major win that further solidifies Harsco's long-term commitment to this critical emerging growth market."
