Harsco Corp. announced that its MultiServ mill services division has been awarded a three-year add-on contract by Lafarge North America to provide expanded on-site steel slag screening and handling services. The contract is valued at close to $3 million over its duration.
Lafarge processes granulated blast furnace slag from a major steel mill for use in the production of concrete and construction aggregates. Under this add-on contract, MultiServ will screen up to 300,000 tons of slag per year to support new market requirements that Lafarge has identified. Harsco's MultiServ division is the world's single largest provider of on-site, outsourced mill services to the steel and metals industries, operating at more than 160 mills in over 30 countries.
