Harsco Corp. has signed a new, multi-million dollar supply contract which expands its business with a major asphalt shingle manufacturer in the United States. The agreement is expected to add to Harsco's share of this market in 2010 and beyond.
Under the contract, Harsco's Minerals division will supply a full range of roofing granules to customer plant locations across the U.S. for use in the manufacture of asphalt shingles, principally for the residential roofing and home refurbishment markets. Harsco will support the contract from its network of 15 production facilities in 12 states as supply points to ensure uninterrupted product availability.
Harsco Minerals is the U.S.' third largest manufacturer of roofing granules and the largest manufacturer of blasting abrasives, which it sells under its highly regarded and long-standing Black Beauty brand.
"This expanded partnership represents a great opportunity to generate value for our customer and build a strong collaborative relationship for the future," said Gene Iannazzo, president of Harsco Minerals.
