Harris Serves from A to Z

New Jersey’s Zozzaro Brothers Inc. installs Harris Centurion Baler.

In directories of recyclers, the alphabetical listings seldom extend beyond Zozzaro Brothers Inc. of Clifton, N.J.

But the seeming handicap of being last in alphabetical order has not hindered the recycling company, which has been in operation for more than 65 years.

For half that time, the company has been operating newly-purchased HRB balers from Harris Waste Management Group Inc., Peachtree City, Ga. Its most recent purchase came during 2006, with the installation of a Harris HRB Centurion two-ram baler.

Zozzaro Brothers can now claim the purchase of 11 different HRB balers, starting with one that was delivered more than 32 years ago in 1974, according to Larry Zozzaro, senior vice president of the company.

Zozzaro Brothers Inc. (ZBI) is a privately owned recycling company with plant locations in Clifton and Carteret, N.J. The new Centurion was installed in its Carteret facility and is one of five newer generation Centurions the company has on the job in its system. The Centurions at both ZBI locations produce approximately 30,000 tons per month of finished material.

The Harris Centurion baler features a Harris-built 200 hp, flooded-suction hydraulic power unit, as well as a Harris 13-inch-bore main cylinder designed for maximum densities and fast throughput. The company says the Centurion has the capability of processing 50 to 70 tons per hour of various recycled materials.

ZBI claims a long relationship with Harris personnel and its local distributor, James Orioli, president of Recycling Equipment Service, Jamaica, N.Y. “Our relationship with Harris and its distributor, Recycling Equipment Service, brings additional value to our business that allows us to maintain our leading market position”.

Doug Sebastian, vice president of Harris, is likewise complimentary of ZBI’s operations. “Harris has been successful mainly because of the loyalty of its customers,” he remarks. We are extremely grateful for Zozzaro Brothers Inc. and their belief in our efforts.”
