Harris Unveils New Horizontal Baler

Company says HLO 5443 is designed for tight spaces.

Harris, a baler manufacturer based in Peachtree City, Ga., has introduced its HLO 5443 horizontal baler. According to the company, the new baler’s 18-foot by 7-foot size is designed for tight spaces where a traditional horizontal baler will not fit.

Features of the HLO 5443 include:
• 50-horsepower model with an economy mode shutting down one of the twin 25-horsepower motors to save energy and money
• Has a baling cycle time (dry cycle) of 7.6 seconds
• Production rates up to 14 tons/hour
• Maximum operating pressure of 3000 PSI and ram face pressure of 114 PSI

According to the company, other features include high strength design and construction, rear access doors for accessibility to cylinders, enclosed power unit to reduce noise levels and hinged wire tie inserters and twister units for easy access.

The company says the new baler is designed to handle and process OCC, ONP, PET and plastics.
