The Baxley, Ga., baler manufacturing plant of Harris has received a Georgia Department of Labor Award for Excellence for workplace safety.
The award recognizes companies that surpass a minimum 250 workdays with no lost-time injuries, illnesses or fatalities. “We work hard every day to ensure our workers’ safety,” says George Elkins, general manager of the Baxley plant.
Harris, based in Peachtree City, Ga., has been in business for 120 years. The company designs, manufactures and supports scrap processing, recycling and waste handling equipment. More information on the company can be found at www.harrisequip.com.
