Hammermills International (HMI), a Sapulpa, Oklahoma-based provider of equipment and engineering services to the metals recycling industry, has added two engineers to its staff to support its ongoing growth and customer demand.

Fabian Solberg has been named chief operating engineer with the primary goal of leading the company’s emissions capture and control efforts as well as supporting its future growth. HMI says Solberg has been integral in the development of these control systems since the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Enforcement Alert was established July 2021.

He has worked on projects in the oil and gas, chemical, power, downstream, auto shredder, pulp and paper, refinery, demilitarization, government and metals industries, and his professional focus has been on environmental solutions, both through chemistry and equipment technologies.

Solberg, along with four other inventors, holds a U.S. patent for controlling injection of magnesium oxide for controlling SO3 with enhanced boiler efficiency, and HMI says he is an accomplished contract negotiator and client mediator.

David Bills joins HMI as a consultant to support advanced instrumentation and controls scope for new and existing projects focused on new emissions capture and control solutions. He has 30 years of experience working with industrial, automotive, aviation, communications, military and recycling industries. HMI says he has excellent interpersonal abilities and a wide range of technical skills in project management, project engineering, research and development, government contracts and system engineering as well as detailed designs in electrical, electronics and power systems.

“After signing our first emissions capture and control contract earlier this year, we currently have our design included in many permit applications,” Bills says. “Our exclusive no-building solution has set the standard for performance, reliability and safety. It’s the approach many shredder operators see as the most effective and safest.”

“We’ve seen a tremendous increase in interest and orders for our traditional technologies as well as our emissions capture and control solution, which we offer in cooperation with our exclusive partner Zenviro Tech,” HMI Managing Partner and CEO Marlin Bills adds.

“To support our growth and meet ongoing demand, we’re thrilled to have Fabian and David join Hammermills at this exciting time in the auto shredder industry. The duo offers critical engineering experience and capacity as we move forward.”

HMI offers a range of services from single-part to full turnkey shredder installations as well as plant design engineering, technical permit assistance, concrete foundation installations, equipment dismantling and maintenance and operational training.
