Hammel Recyclingtechnik GmbH introduces Red Giant at Pollutec

Hammel shredder features new design and modifications.

German-based Hammel Recyclingtechnik GmbH presented what it calls the new generation primary shredder type VB 950 DK at this year’s Pollutec in Lyon, France.

The Red Giant comes with a newly designed discharge conveyor with a discharge height of approximately 5,000 millimeters, which allows more room for sorting the material after shredding.

Hammel says the primary shredder is characterized by a hydraulic system of the latest generation, which allows a much higher nominal torque on the shafts compared to the previous machines. The engine speed was also modified to reduce noise.

The primary shredder comes with the “easy to use control.” Hammel says parameters such as shaft speed and reversing times can be set easily, and error messages are displayed in clear text.

The shredder can be used for waste, fresh wood, railway sleepers, industrial waste, as well as shredding aluminum profiles, car bodies and light mixed scraps.

The Pollutec exhibition was a “great success,” Hammel says. “Visitors and customers were excited about the innovations and very impressed by the new design.”
