Weis Markets has announced that it is now offering 24-pack 16.9 ounce bottles of water that are made with 100 percent PET plastic. The company says that it is the first supermarket in the country to offer the bottle.
Weis Quality 24-pack bottled water, which also uses 25 percent less plastic, is produced and bottled by Ice River Springs, a North American bottled water company with eight manufacturing plants throughout Canada and the United States.
“We know that eight out of ten plastic bottles end up in landfills. Our new Weis Quality 24-pack bottled water is a creative, practical product that helps our company address this challenge and allows us to reduce our carbon footprint,” says Bruno Garisto, Weis Markets’ director of Corporate Brands.
Weis Markets currently operates 164 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and West Virginia.
