Greif ceases operations on paperboard machine

The company is ceasing operations on a paperboard machine at its mill in Mobile, Alabama.

Greif, Delaware, Ohio, has announced that it plans to cease operations of its No. 1 recycled paperboard machine at its Mobile Paperboard Mill in Mobile, Alabama. According to a news release from Greif, its No. 2 paperboard machine at that mill will continue to operate normally.

The company reports that it ceased operations on its No. 1 recycled paperboard machine to “help reduce the Mobile mill’s ongoing operating costs and capital needs.”

Both machines produce mostly coreboard and other grades.
