Greif, Delaware, Ohio, has announced that it plans to cease operations of its No. 1 recycled paperboard machine at its Mobile Paperboard Mill in Mobile, Alabama. According to a news release from Greif, its No. 2 paperboard machine at that mill will continue to operate normally.
The company reports that it ceased operations on its No. 1 recycled paperboard machine to “help reduce the Mobile mill’s ongoing operating costs and capital needs.”
Both machines produce mostly coreboard and other grades.
Greif acquired the Mobile mill with its February combination with Caraustar.
