Greenstar North America is holding a groundbreaking ceremony in Poland, Ohio, for a new materials recovery facility.
Greenstar is receiving partial grant funding supplied by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention.
The Mahoning County Refuse & Recycling Division will administer the $250,000 ODNR grant, and Greenstar is providing cash and supplemental funding for the facility and equipment.
The county's recyclable materials, including the curbside items, are collected by Allied Waste Industries as a free service.
The facility is scheduled for operation in June.
