GreenRock Rare Earth Recovery Corp.,Tampa, Fla., along with its partner, Creative Recycling Technologies, also of Tampa, has acquired BluBox Rare Earth Processing Technology, a system developed by BluBox Trading AG in Switzerland.
The system focuses on recovering heavy rare earth elements. With the deal, GreenRock has the exclusive rights to the technology in the United States.
The BluBox technology, already in use in Europe, separates and recovers the heavy rare earth elements from a multitude of commercial and consumer end-of-life electronics in the an environmentally safe manner, according to a press release issued by GreenRock.
“GreenRock and Creative Recycling are making a significant investment in world leading technology, bringing true e-cycling solutions to the U.S.,” Jon Yob, Creative Recycling Systems CEO and founder, says. “We are very excited about our new technology’s ability to address a major challenge of the electronics recycling industry, the processing and recovery of these strategically important rare earth materials.”
