GreenMan Technologies, headquartered in Lynnfield, Mass., has completed a $300,000 upgrade to its Des Moines, Iowa, tire processing plant. The project involved the addition of new shredding and screening capacity in response to increased market demand for tire-derived fuel products.
“We can now market our Iowa alternative fuel products to a wider base of customers at more productive margins,” Mark Maust, Midwest regional vice president, says.
GreenMan’s equipment upgrade was funded in part by a low-interest loan from the state of Iowa.
“This loan reflects mutual government and industry confidence in the state of Iowa scrap tire management initiatives and our collective commitment to ensuring that Iowa scrap tires are processed in a compliant manner,” Maust says.Latest from Recycling Today
