GreenMan To Acquire Collection Operations

GreenMan signs letter of intent to acquire Minnesota-based tire collection operation.

GreenMan Technologies Inc., Lynnfield, Mass., today announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire the tire collection operations of Minnesota-based R&J Recycling Company.

R&J has been in business since 1989 and currently serves the northern portions of Minnesota and Wisconsin. GreenMan will consolidate R&J’s business into its existing GreenMan Technologies of Minnesota operations and anticipates closing the transaction in early July. GreenMan has not disclosed the terms of the transaction.

Mark Maust, GreenMan’s vice president of operations and vice president of GreenMan of Minnesota, says, “The addition of R&J to the GreenMan family provides us with an established scrap tire collection presence in the northern Minnesota and Wisconsin markets and provides us access to markets not previously available.” He adds that the acquisition should benefit GreenMan’s processing facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin as well.

Bob Davis, GreenMan’s CEO, says, “Our industry is characterized by a large number of smaller local and regional companies. Our ability to selectively identify, evaluate and consolidate smaller operations into an existing high volume GreenMan facility will allow us to continue to grow our revenue base and maximize out processing infrastructure investment.”
