Greenman Subsidiary Helps Schools Land Grant Money from Missouri

Schools receive $200,000 in grants to purchase and install safety tiles.

National Playground Compliance Group (NPCG), a subsidiary of the tire recycling firm Greenman Technologies Inc., has assisted 10 Missouri schools in securing $200,000 in grants from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources - Scrap Tire Division. The recipients will use the grant money to partially offset the purchase and installation of NPCG'S DuroMat "Extended Life" safety tiles and playground equipment prior to commencement of the September 2010 school year.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources Waste Tire Grant Program encourages the use of value added products derived from recycled Missouri scrap tires. The grants will generate consumption of more than 160,000 pounds of recycled crumb rubber derived from Missouri waste tires. Installation will be overseen by the Missouri Playground Compliance Program, a partnership formed between NPCG and the Missouri School Board Association. NPCG will provide full turnkey installation, and certify the compliance of the NPCG playgrounds and fitness systems. All of the identified sites will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility mandates.
