Green EnviroTech Corp., a plastics recovery, separation, cleaning, and recycling company focusing on auto shredder residue (ASR), has announced plans to open a recycling plant in Riverbank, Calif. The 50,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open by the first quarter of 2011 and will be the first recycling plant for the company.
In a release announcing the project, the company also says it will be relocating its headquarters from New York to Riverbank.
"We are extremely pleased to bring patented technology to our first plant in Riverbank, California," says Gary DeLaurentiis, CEO of Green EnviroTech Corp. "Green EnviroTech is excited to become part of the community and help bring local jobs to the area. We look forward to being a part of the neighborhood making a difference in today's environment."
The company adds that it also is planning on breaking ground on a facility in Fond du Lac, Wis., in 2011.
Green EnviroTech, describes its ASR sorting and recycling process as involving “sink float” technology from Germany’s SiCon GmbH and methods from other partners to create recyclable streams of polypropylene/polyethylene (PP/PE); acrylonitrile butadiene styrene/high-impact polystyrene (ABS/HIPS); and mixed plastics and rubber.
