A Gorilla 100S 413/9 baler made by Harris, Peachtree City, Ga., and installed in 2008 is earning positive reviews from its owner.
According to Bruce Blue, president and CEO of Freedom Metals Inc., the baler “is running great and we have already seen costs savings. We love the Harris Gorilla because of its sturdiness, quality and structure of the machine.”
Freedom Metals Inc. started its recycling business in 1983 using a vertical baler, but has since added a new building and 30-foot conveyor system along with its Harris Gorilla.
The company serves customers in Kentucky and Indiana and processes grades of both ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal.
The Harris Gorilla is designed to provide dense bales and high throughputs for a variety of materials. According to a Harris news release, the model is designed for easy operation and simple maintenance, featuring the patented Harris Smartknife™ system and the optional Harris Combo Door.
