Good2grow, an Atlanta-based children’s beverage and snack company, has partnered with TerraCycle, Trenton, New Jersey, to enable consumers to recycle their Good2grow plastic character tops. As an added incentive, for every shipment of character tops sent to TerraCycle, collectors earn points that can be donated to a nonprofit, school or charitable organization of their choice.
“Good2grow is committed to continuing to reduce the impact we have on the environment. We have developed reusable containers that are also highly recyclable, with character tops that are highly collectible but trickier to recycle,” says Good2grow CEO Gunnar Olson. “TerraCycle’s unique capabilities help enable our character tops to find new and durable applications once they have run their course in our consumers' lives.”

According to TerraCycle, the Good2grow Character Top Free Recycling Program allows parents to let their children enjoy Good2grow drinks and snacks, play with the plastic character tops and recycle them with TerraCycle afterward. To participate, consumers can sign up on the TerraCycle program page, separate the character tops from the bottles and mail in the tops using the provided prepaid shipping label from anywhere in the contiguous United States. TerraCycle encourages participants to recycle the Good2grow bottles through local systems where possible. Once collected, the character tops are cleaned, sorted by material type and reprocessed into material that can be remolded to make new recycled products.
“As a parent of four, I know that enticing our young ones to choose healthy options can be tricky,” says TerraCycle CEO Tom Szaky. “Participating in this recycling program will make that task much easier for parents while keeping the associated plastic waste out of landfills.”
The Good2grow Character Top Free Recycling Program is open to any interested individual, school, office or community organization.
