Global Partners Alliance LLC, Bettendorf, Iowa, signed an agreement with SWB Stahlformguss, becoming the Bochum, Germany foundry’s exclusive North American Sales Agency.
SWB has been a market leader in the production of wear parts for the metals recycling industry for several decades, and is the world’s only manufacturer of differentially hardened alloy hammers. This hammer is made using a proprietary heat treatment process which produces softer pin bores for increased hammer pin life, and a harder impact surface along the critical wear area of the hammer. The surface hardness of the hammers results in unsurpassed resistance to both impact and wear in the violent shredding environment. The differentially heat treated hammers enable metal recyclers to achieve significant cost savings per ton of material processed through increased hammer and hammer pin life, as well as less maintenance time.
Every SWB casting undergoes an independent inspection process. The surface of every casting is checked 100% for possible cracks by magnetic particle inspection, and the material structure is inspected ultrasonically. Following the production and inspection processes, all castings are dimensionally checked so that components can be shipped in sets of the same weight, insuring that rotors equipped with SWB wear parts will be in balance and run smoothly.
