Global Investment Recovery, Inc. has completed the acquisition of a 44,000-square foot facility in Tucson, Ariz. Global will provide electronic recycling services to existing customers and other potential customers located in the southwest region of the United States. The Tucson facility is the seventh recycling operation of Global, joining other operations in Tampa, FL, Aiken County, SC, and Reno, NV.
Global expects to invest $3 million into the facility and begin production this coming May. The company expects to recycle 20,000 personal computers, up to 15,500 monitors, and other products monthly at the location.
"We are very excited and proud to grow into the vibrant Southwest area with our latest processing facility, bringing our company’s recycling knowledge, methods and techniques as well as providing new jobs for the Tucson area," said David Ritter, president of Global.
GIRI is one of seven primary electronic recyclers for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Since 2000, Global has been a Primary Contractor for the Department of Defense for the de-manufacturing of electronic scrap and is one of only two companies in the U.S. authorized to process this material. Global also provides recycling services for OEMs, leasing companies and other large corporate entities. Each year, Global recycles 560 tons of plastics and nearly 2,800 tons of steel.
