The Glass Packaging Institute (GPI), Arlington, Virgina, is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Clear Choice Awards.
The awards program recognizes the contributions North American glass makes to the image, success, aesthetic appeal and recyclability of a variety of glass products. Winners will be announced in 2025 and showcased in a variety of digital and print media.
Qualifying products must be packaged in glass containers manufactured in North America and must have been introduced into the North American marketplace between 2023 and 2024. This year's program includes nine categories: beer, cider and malt-based beverages, food, wine, nonalcoholic beverages, cosmetics, fragrances and pharmaceutical, spirits and spirits-based RTD (ready to drink).
GPI invites brands to submit their products in one of the above categories, and brands also may be eligible to compete in the sustainability and innovation category. International manufacturers can enter the Global Member Container categories. Clear Choice Award category winners are automatically entered into the People’s Choice Glass awards, held on GPI’s social media channels after all CCA winners have been announced.
Winners will be picked by an independent panel of judges from the food and beverage media and industry, including lifestyle writers, design and packing professionals. GPI says submissions will be judged based on criteria including storytelling strength of the brand or product, package design, shelf impact and innovation.
“We’re excited for the 2025 installment of the Clear Choice Awards,” GPI president Scott DeFife says. “The North American glass industry has so much to offer in terms of innovation, consumer appeal and creativity. We have noticed many new products in glass the past year, and the Clear Choice Awards have always been of the best way to recognize North American glass containers. We eagerly anticipate this year’s submissions.”
Since 1989, the Clear Choice Awards have honored consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers that find unique ways to use glass packaging to tell the story of their brands, create glass packaging designs that stand out on the shelf and demonstrate novel glass packaging looks.
