Giordano’s Recycling has installed a Harris GS9 Baler/Logger/Shear at its Vineland, N.J., site. The location is on a five-acre site adjacent to the company’s current location. Harris installed the baler system in March, 2010.
The GS9 and GS series Baler/Logger/Shears employs 100hp motors; uses horizontal mounted pumps; and has independent load tables, which allow for more visual inspection of material by the operator when material is dumped into the charging box.
The Harris system also incorporates an OIT control panel with basic commands, operational information and diagnostics. Production reporting is also included. This machine was designed to deliver a new generation of performance to keep pace with a company’s sustained growth and provide overall lower operating cost per ton.
“The Harris GS 9 assists with our growing pains, speeding up the processing, and giving us a range of new possibilities” according to Brian Giordano, COO.
Giordano says that the purchase was a team effort by the family owned business. “The shear business was new to us. We viewed machines in the field, including competitors, and we as a family decided upon Harris because it is a well built machine and Harris has great customer service.”
Additionally, Giordano’s currently has a HRB 8 baler processing paper that is 24 years old.
Giordano’s specializes in processing non ferrous and ferrous metals, high temp alloys, plastics, cardboard and recovered paper.
