Raleigh Recycling exec earns North Carolina business award

David Gibb named CFO of the year in the Raleigh-Durham area by "Triangle Business Journal."

David Gibb, chief financial officer of Raleigh Recycling NC Scrap Metal LLC, parent company of Raleigh Metal Recycling and Goldsboro Metal Recycling, both of North Carolina, was recently named chief financial officer (CFO) of the year for a midsized company in the Raleigh-Durham area by the Triangle Business Journal. Gibb also is CFO of Benlee, a Detroit-based, global manufacturer of roll-off trailers and trucks for the scrap recycling, waste and oil and gas industries. In 2013, the publication named Gibb a runner-up in the annual awards program.

Raleigh Recycling is the largest recycling center in Wake County, North Carolina, and is also a junk yard and salvage yard supporting eastern North Carolina.

The award was presented at the Triangle Business Journal’s annual awards event held on July 9, 2015.

Gibb also was recently named one of the Top Ten Human Resource Professionals of the year by the Society of Human Resource Professionals in the state of Michigan at its annual event in October 2014.

Greg Brown, owner of the companies, says David’s dedication to the companies and the industry is one factor that makes him deserving of the awards.

“It has been a great partnership working with David for the last three years, and we will continue to move forward to drive more value and growth,” says Brown. “We work together each and every day; there is a strong trust and respect for each other’s skill set. Mr. Gibb has provided and added value to our IT, HR, Finance, Treasury and Operational departments at all of our locations.”

Raleigh Recycling NC Scrap Metal LLC, is located close to downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, and is a full-service recycling operation that is currently servicing large industrial projects and demolitions. The company is a major buyer of scrap steel, copper, aluminum and junk cars.

Benlee has been manufacturing and selling roll-off trailers for over 40 years and has been selling its roll-off truck replacement, the Super Mini, since 2007. The product was recently showcased at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Convention & Exposition in Vancouver in April 2015 and last month at the National Waste and Recycling Association tradeshow in Las Vegas.
