Richard Gertler has resigned from his post as Manager of National Accounts at OmniSource Corp., Fort Wayne, Ind. Gertler also stepped down as Vice President of Industrial Scrap Consulting, a joint venture between OmniSource and Cohen Brothers Inc that was formed to manage multi- location scrap-producing locations nationwide.
Gertler leaves OmniSource with more than 25 years of operations and marketing experience within the scrap recycling industry.
He joined OmniSource in January 1999 as Group Vice President of Industrial Scrap LLC, then a division of OmniSource Corp. Prior to merging, Industrial Scrap Corp., located in East Chicago, Ind., Gertler was Vice President of Operations for the company and one of three Gertler family member principles.
Subsequently, Richard’s father, Herbert Gertler, retired in May of 2001 and Richard’s younger brother, Jeffrey, left OmniSource in July of 2004. At press time, there was no confirmation of Richard’s future plans.
