Gershow Recycling, Medford, New York, has awarded three environmental scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to high school students.
Gershow annually awards the competitive scholarship to graduating seniors who have displayed exemplary efforts in the fields of environmental science or engineering while in high school and plan to continue to pursue higher education degrees in either of these areas of study.
Nader Ahmed, a member of Valley City, North Dakota-based Valley Stream Central High School’s Class of 2019; Leah Hochman, a member of Freeport, New York-based Freeport High School’s Class of 2019; and Simon Liu, a member of New Hyde Park, New York-based Herricks High School’s Class of 2019 were the recipients of the scholarships.
