The Germany-based Circular Valley program says it has invited principals of “14 young companies from around the world” to its home in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany to meet business “coaches,” potential mentors and current decision-makers from the business, political and science arenas.
Circular Valley says that the 14 invitees to its Accelerator program, who will soon be collaborating with industry veterans, “are tackling five major circular economy issues: waste, transportation, construction, water and renewable energy.” At the end of the meetings the entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to present their ideas to an audience at a DemoDay event.
The 14 companies invited include three in the industrial waste and recycling category: Clickwaste (Germany), Cyrkl (Czech Republic/Austria) and MikaCycle (France).
Three firms are described by Circular Valley as in the collection of presorted recyclables from consumers category: LiveLoveRecycle (Lebanon); Lixo (France) and Rhinopaq (Germany).
The representative from the construction materials and waste category is RecycleX (India), while the circular renewable energy category has two entrants: 1s1 Energy (United States) and CO2nvert (Italy).
Companies from the water treatment and desalination category are Colea AgriTech (Palestine), CyFract (Germany), Desolenator (Netherlands), Bio-Recycler (Kenya) and Hydroleap (Singapore).
Circular Valley was founded in 2021 as an initiative founded to promote the circular economy and to turn the Rhine-Ruhr region into “the global hotspot for a circular economy – in the same way that Silicon Valley is the hotspot for the digital economy.”
The organization says so far, more than 60 emerging companies have participated in its Accelerator program.
