Gehl Introduces New RS10 Telescopic Handler

The new RS10 telescopic handler has a rated lift capacity of 10,000 pounds.

Gehl Co., West Bend, Wis., a manufacturer of compact construction and agriculture equipment, has introduced the new RS10 telescopic handler. This new addition to the RS Series telescopic handlers has a rated lift capacity of 10,000 pounds and a maximum lift height of 44 feet.

The boom of the new RS10 telescopic handler has a welded box-section design, which it shares with the Gehl DL Series telescopic handlers. The 10,000-pound operating capacity is achieved without the use of outriggers or fluid-filled tires, although outriggers are optional for added stability.

The patented personnel work platform (PWP) safety system is available as an option on the new RS10 model. The PWP system allows the use of ANSI/ITSDF B56.6 - compliant personnel work platforms, which are commonly used by framers, roofers and siding contractors.

A rear-axle stabilizer system can improve stability by locking the rear axle in position whenever the boom is raised more than 60 degrees, the parking brake is applied or the PWP System is activated. Other design features include a frame with reinforced C-channels, internal wet disc brakes and a SAHR (Spring-Applied, Hydraulic-Release) parking brake.

The ROPS/FOPS canopy and cab is designed to provide a spacious operator’s environment with pilot-assisted controls that are easy-to-reach and easy-to-operate, according to the company.  The RS10 can also be equipped with the optional glass-enclosed cab with heater/defroster. A suspension seat is another option.

The new RS10 telescopic handler is powered by a turbocharged diesel engine with 115 horsepower. The RS10 is also equipped with a four-speed power-shift transmission, three steering modes and a quick-attach work tool-mounting system.
