The project includes a $2.2 million, 30,000 square foot expansion of the facility as well as $4.3 million in further technological production enhancements to include increased laser cutting, robotics and an entirely new paint system. The expansion is expected to be complete early next year.
When completed, telehandler production capacity will increase by around 50 percent.
Gehl currently builds 16 models of telehandlers at its Yankton facility in various product configurations ranging in capacity from 6,000 to 12,000 pounds and lift height from 34 to 55 feet.
