GEEP Wins Award

Company hopes to grow its electronics scrap business.

Global Electric Electronic Processing was awarded a silver award for Waste Diversion Program Operator at this year’s Ontario Waste Minimization Awards, held recently in Toronto. The annual awards are presented by the Recycling Council of Ontario.

GEEP has introduced break-through technology that will substantially change the e-waste recycling industry. The ERP I system is in full production at our Barrie Ontario facility.

With ERP I, non-disassembled electric and electronic products are shredded by a heavy-duty crusher. Coarse ferrous and non-ferrous parts are taken out automatically.

Additional hand-picking stations sort out additional valuable fractions like motors, transformers, stainless steel parts and circuit boards. Many of these electronic products contain considerable quantities of mixed plastics. These are also separated and will be used for the main component into a further process called "de-polymerization" which will be introduced in Q1 2007 at the Barrie, Ontario location under the name NanoFuels Solutions Inc.

The ERP I recycling plant is specifically designed for the low cost recycling of about 6,000 lbs/hour of all types of electric and electronic scrap. Any toxic or harmful substances that may cause environmental or health problems are removed prior to the recycling process.

CRT monitors are also recycled separately using an on-site processing equipment.
