GEEP, headquartered in Barrie, Ontario, was presented with the BDC Manufacturing Excellence Award at the 2010 Barrie Business Awards Gala Nov. 25.
“GEEP continues to focus on maintaining a world-class recycling standard with attention to both the environment and health and safety of our workers,” says Clyde Yorke, CEO of GEEP, who accepted the award.

The awards, initiated by the Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce and the city of Barrie, are designed to recognize the contribution of local businesses to the success of the community at large. The program begins with a call for nominations in June, nominees are interviewed throughout the summer, the panel of judges meets in September and the finalists are announced in October.
