Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP) has announced its Barrie, Ontario, headquarters location has achieved OHSAS 18001 certification. GEEP provides asset management and end-of-life recycling for electronic equipment.
According to GEEP, OHSAS is an international standard for facilities with health and safety management systems. The certification is designed to be compatible with both ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental), which GEEP Barrie already holds. Some key elements included in OHSAS 18001 are: planning for hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control, OHSAS management program, structure and responsibility, training, awareness and competence.
