Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP) Inc., a part of the Barrie Metals Group of Companies, announced that it has won the Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award, an award that recognizes Canadian companies that are leading the way to create improvements in green technology.
“The Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award recognizes those Canadian companies that offer solutions to global environmental challenges by creating intellectual property and technology that reduce society’s environmental impact, “says John Ruffolo, national leader for Deloitte’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group. “Companies such as GEEP are creating technology solutions that have a significant environmental impact and demonstrate a compelling return on investment, despite facing tough economic times. In doing so, they are helping position Canada as a global leader in the development of commercially viable green technology.”
In a release announcing the award, Alfred Hambsch, CEO of Barrie Metals Group, cites GEEP’s attention to continuous improvement as a reason for its success. “There is a great awareness happening about resource scarcity and the environmental impact of recycling product incorrectly”, says Hambsch. “At GEEP we have addressed these concerns with our state of the art recycling technology and strict environmental compliance.”
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Program is a technology awards program in Canada that recognizes business growth, innovation and entrepreneurship.
GEEP operates facilities that process obsolete electronics and manage a wide range of IT and telecom assets.
