Gershman, Brickner & Bratton Inc. (GBB), Fairfax, Va., has announced that Michael Czuprenski, based in the Detroit area, has joined the firm as a principal associate. According to a GBB release, Czuprenski will strengthen GBB's Midwest presence and provide the consulting group with extensive public-sector, hands-on and strategic solid waste management expertise.
GBB is a solid waste management consulting firm that works on solid waste collection, processing, recycling and disposal issues.
Prior to joining GBB, Czuprenski spent 21 years as operations director at the Southeastern Oakland County (Michigan) Resource Recovery Authority (SOCRRA), a 12-community solid waste consortium that serves about 100,000 households.

At SOCRRA, Czuprenski was involved in all aspects of the consortium and had responsibilities that included overseeing the overall operations and maintenance of its 500-ton-per-day solid waste transfer station; construction and operations of the 26,000-square-foot 80-ton-per-day dual-stream MRF; developing the 120,000-cubic-yard per year composting operation; developing the household hazardous waste and used electronic equipment recycling program; and procuring the refuse, recyclables and yard waste collection services for member communities.
