Garfield Refining all smiles after receiving award

Philadelphia precious metals recycler wins award from dentistry media service.

Philadelphia-based Garfield Refining has announced it has been awarded its ninth consecutive Townie Choice Best Dental Scrap Refiner award by Phoenix-based Dentaltown Magazine.

The nearly 130-year old precious metals refinery earned endorsements from customers who nominated it and voted for Garfield Recycling to win the annual award.

“This is the best refiner I have worked with in my 20 years in the dental field,” said Jon Gaich, a dental lab technician. “The turnaround time is the fastest in the industry, and there are several choices of payment options. They break down the alloys when they assay it, so you know exactly how much of what alloy was recovered. The professionalism has been great, with notifications when they receive your shipment and when it settles.”

Garfield Refining says it works with dentists by purchasing dental scrap, including crowns, bridges, inlays, and clasps, which can contain precious metals including gold, silver, and palladium. The firm’s staff separates the precious metals from dental materials and refines them, allowing Garfield Refining to monetize “otherwise non-fungible materials,” according to the firm.

The Philadelphia family-owned business credits its “customer-first approach” for having helped them build lasting relationships with professionals in the dental industry, including dentists, dental assistants, dental labs and dental service organizations.

In addition to the dentistry sector, Garfield Refining also processes material from other industries and individuals, including jewelers, pawn shops and gold collectors.

“The best thing about being named America’s top dental refinery is that it’s a confirmation that dental professionals trust our company,” says Morgan Kerrissey, president of Garfield Refining. “Winning this award for the past nine years is a nice reminder that top-notch customer service and industry-leading prices are always appreciated.”
