Margaret T. (Siegel) Weber, co-founder of Garden Street Iron & Metal Inc. along with her husband of 57 years Earl Weber Sr., has died at the age of 76.
Margaret, a resident of Cape Coral, Fla., was born in Cincinnati, where she and Earl lived until moving to Cape Coral in 1991. The Webers founded Garden Street Iron & Metal Inc. more than 50 years ago in Cincinnati. (See “Built to Last,” the cover story of the July 2010 edition of Recycling Today.)
Margaret is survived by her husband, Earl; daughters: Mary Beth Winters, Lori Selm and son Earl Weber, all of Cincinnati; son Robert of Fort Myers, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
According to her son Robert, Margaret was a supportive mother who always participated in her children’s activities while also working in the family business. She moved to Fort Myers to both reach the goal of living in a warmer climate and to assist in the daily operations of Garden Street of Southwest Florida.
A funeral mass has been scheduled for Saturday, July 30, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Fort Myers. The family requests that donations in memory of Margaret Weber be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
